Welcome to Ian Spencer Photo. I am an award winning, Melbourne  and Sydney photographer. My work focuses on fitness, and portraiture. 

As a younger guy I was inspired by all things sports and fitness. I played basketball, cricket, tennis, martial arts, golf, weight lifting, went to the gym, cross country running, and more.

I was equally inspired by the sporting greats on TV, I would not only love watching live sport but movies old and new that exemplified sports and fitness.

I have spent many years in a gym throughout my life and sometimes life gets in the way but I keep coming back to fitness, health and keeping my body in shape.

As my photography skills grew I thought about capturing these times when I was at my peak or just a time when I had achieved something great for myself, it was hard to find a photographer that could do this with beautiful light in a real life environment not just against a white studio background. So I thought "hey maybe that is something I can offer."

Maybe there are lots of bodybuilders, gym members, and people who use personal trainers to reach their own personal goals who would love to have some high quality, beautifully lit photos to document their goals, mark there progress or use for modelling.

Sure enough there are, and I now spend most of my time travelling to various locations to photograph some awe inspiring people, from bodybuilders to personal trainers, models and clothing companies.

I really get a rush from creating images that show off all the hard work and effort that someone has put into their health. I can honestly say that I walk away from every shoot feeling so motivated and so excited to know I have captured a moment in someones lives that is so great and that will last their lifetime.
